The much-anticipated pan-India film Akhanda-2: Tandavam, featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Sreenu, faced an unexpected hurdle ahead of release. The production house 14 Reels Plus cancelled the special premiere shows scheduled to take place in India on Wednesday (December 4).

In an official announcement made on social media, the makers stated that the decision was prompted by unavoidable technical issues. They also mentioned that despite their best efforts, certain factors remained beyond their control. The team extended an apology to fans for the inconvenience caused by the last-minute change.

However, the production house clarified that the premiere shows overseas will continue as planned. International schedules remain unaffected, and screenings in foreign markets will be held as per the original timetable.

Expectations are high for Akhanda-2, which serves as a sequel to the blockbuster Akhanda. Though the cancellation has disappointed fans who were eagerly awaiting the premieres, the film will release in theatres across India on December 5 as initially announced. The makers confirmed that the cancellation of premieres will not impact regular theatrical screenings.
