New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released a nationwide letter coinciding with the launch of the GST Savings Festival, which began across India today. In the letter, he urged citizens to prioritize the sale and purchase of domestically manufactured goods, highlighting the economic and social benefits of supporting local industries.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the new GST slabs aim to simplify the tax system, increase savings, and benefit all segments of society, including youth, farmers, women, business owners, the middle class, and MSMEs. He noted that the reforms will facilitate business operations, encourage investments, and contribute to overall economic growth. Income tax exemptions have been raised to Rs 12 lakh, and the GST reforms are expected to save citizens Rs 2.5 lakh crore this year.
