Mumbai: BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has cautioned that Indian governments risk facing large-scale protests if they fail to address the aspirations of the country’s youth. Speaking at the “NDTV Youth 2025” summit in Mumbai on Saturday, he drew parallels with recent youth-led demonstrations in Nepal, describing them as a fight for democratic rights and the future of young people.

KTR noted that over 65% of India’s population is under 35 and stressed that governments should harness this demographic for constructive development rather than ignoring their concerns. He emphasized the importance of focusing on fundamental infrastructure, innovation, industrial growth, employment generation, and skill development, rather than religious or cultural divides.

Citing examples of active youth engagement, KTR praised Hyderabad Central University students in Telangana for their campaign to protect 400 acres of forest land. He urged young people to move beyond social media protests, participate actively in political processes, and challenge systems to realize their ambitions and contribute meaningfully to India’s future.
