Mumbai: Former trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar, who recently lost her position over a fake certificate controversy, and her mother are once again in the spotlight after being implicated in a kidnapping case in Airoli, Mumbai. The family has previously faced controversy, including a viral video showing Khedkar’s mother allegedly wielding a firearm.
According to police, on September 13 around 7 PM, a car carrying the Khedkar family collided with a truck driven by 22-year-old Prahlad Kumar, a resident of Turbhe MIDC, at a traffic signal in Navi Mumbai. Following the collision, two individuals in the car reportedly forced Kumar into their vehicle and drove away. The truck driver went missing, prompting Rabale Police Station to register a case.

Social activist Vijay Kumbhar brought the incident to public attention, confirming that the kidnapped driver was later traced to the Khedkars’ residence in Chatushrungi, Pune. Assistant Police Inspector Kharat and his team rescued the driver from the location. During the investigation, Khedkar’s mother allegedly behaved aggressively and refused to cooperate with police, who have now summoned the family to Rabale Police Station for questioning.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the kidnapping, which could further complicate legal issues for Puja Khedkar, whose mother has been involved in prior controversial incidents.
