Veteran actress and politician Radhika Sarathkumar has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after being diagnosed with dengue fever. Initially suspected to be a common fever, medical tests confirmed dengue, leading to her hospitalization on July 28. Doctors are closely monitoring her condition and have advised that she remain under medical supervision until August 5.
The news of Radhika’s hospitalization has left fans and film industry colleagues concerned. Supporters have taken to social media to wish her a speedy recovery, with #GetWellSoonRaadhika trending widely. Providing an update, her daughter Rayane Mithun said, “Thank you everyone. Mom is doing well. Though she has dengue, she is recovering and will return home soon. We appreciate all your love and prayers.”

Radhika Sarathkumar began her film career in 1978 with Bharathiraja’s *Kizhakke Pogum Rail*, which became a major success and established her as a leading actress in Tamil cinema. She went on to feature in several successful films across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. In Telugu cinema, she has acted alongside prominent stars including Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, and Nagarjuna.
In addition to her film career, Radhika has been a significant presence in television. Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, she and her husband officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Contesting from the Virudhunagar constituency, she finished in third place but continues to remain active in party politics.
