Hyderabad: In a significant development in the suicide case of television anchor Swetcha, the Chikkadpally police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against Poornachander. The action follows a complaint filed by Swetcha’s parents, alleging that he was responsible for her death and had also behaved inappropriately with her minor daughter, Aranya.

He is currently in police custody and is expected to be produced before a magistrate for remand.
