Tadepalli: Andhra Pradesh police on Tuesday seized a bulletproof vehicle from the convoy of former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, as part of an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred during his recent visit to Palnadu district.
The Nallapadu police visited the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli and issued formal notices to party office in-charge and MLC Lella Appi Reddy. The action follows the death of a party worker, Singayya, who was fatally run over during Jagan’s tour of Sattenapalli.
Based on video footage that emerged after the incident, authorities determined that a vehicle in Jagan’s convoy was responsible for the accident. Police have since registered a case and confirmed that the vehicle involved—believed to have caused the fatality—has been seized for forensic and procedural examination.
Officials also stated that cases have been filed not only against the vehicle’s driver but also against others, including Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing, with police asserting that the matter will be pursued rigorously and without exception.
