Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Monday announced that the party will kick off a statewide membership drive in June, with plans to form new committees from the village to the state level. He made the remarks during an induction event at Telangana Bhavan, where several leaders from various political parties in the Gadwal constituency joined the BRS.

Addressing the gathering, KTR expressed confidence that if a by-election were to occur in Gadwal, the BRS would once again claim victory. He lashed out at the Congress party, calling it the “biggest fraud of the century” and alleging that the public had been misled by false promises. “The people of Palamuru believed the Congress and now regret it,” KTR said, accusing the ruling party of plunging the state into administrative disarray.

KTR further criticized the defection of ten BRS MLAs, labeling them as traitors. “Those who betrayed us from within must be exposed and politically rejected,” he said. He clarified that his comments were not made in anger but out of deep disappointment.

He also took aim at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of repeatedly changing his stance on loan waiver promises. “Revanth Reddy talks about loan waivers like a character switching roles in a movie—one day he’s Ramu, the next he’s Remo. The only difference is, Remo has hair,” KTR quipped, drawing laughter from party members. However, KTR did not respond to questions regarding the controversy surrounding party MLC K. Kavitha.
