Washington/Beijing: Trade negotiations between the United States and China have ended on a successful note. After a recent escalation that saw both nations impose steep tariffs on each other’s goods, the two economic giants have now agreed to scale back those duties.
As per the agreement, the US will reduce tariffs on Chinese imports from 145% to 30% for a period of 90 days. In return, China will lower its tariffs on American goods from 125% to 10%.

The tariff war had intensified after the Trump administration imposed a 145% tariff on Chinese products, prompting China to retaliate with a 125% duty on US goods. Following discussions, both sides have now opted for a de-escalation, aiming to ease trade tensions and restore economic cooperation.
