Following the tragic death of 26 tourists in the terrorist attack at Pahalgam, All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi made a significant appeal to the Muslim community. Taking to social media, Owaisi urged Muslims across the country to wear black ribbons during Friday prayers on April 25 as a symbolic protest against the terror strike.

Condemning the attack, he said, “All of you are aware of how terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), based in Pakistan, brutally killed innocent Indian citizens in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Many others are critically injured and fighting for their lives. As a mark of protest against this act of terrorism and injustice, I appeal to all of you to wear a black band when you go to the mosque for Friday prayers.”

Owaisi’s call comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam incident.

Meanwhile, the Central Government has taken the attack seriously, with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh convening an all-party meeting to discuss the next steps. Owaisi was among the leaders who participated in the high-level discussions.
