Bihar: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has launched a scathing attack on the JD(U)-BJP coalition government in Bihar, accusing it of being an opportunistic alliance that has failed to serve the state’s interests. Speaking at a party rally in Buxar, Kharge questioned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s political integrity, stating that the CM often changes parties to retain his position.
Kharge appealed to the people of Bihar to vote against the NDA government in the upcoming assembly elections, describing the JD(U)-BJP alliance as a self-serving partnership with no benefit to the state. “Nitish Kumar will switch parties again for the position of Chief Minister,” Kharge said. He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling his administration a “factory of lies,” and questioned the fulfillment of the Rs. 1.25 lakh crore package promised to Bihar. Kharge urged the people of Bihar to hold Chief Minister Nitish Kumar accountable for the unfulfilled promises.

The Congress leader further appealed to voters to support the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ (Grand Alliance) in the forthcoming assembly elections, emphasizing the need to replace the NDA government.
In another development, Kharge also addressed the recent charges filed against Congress leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the National Herald case. He accused the ED of targeting Congress for political purposes and asserted that the party leaders were not intimidated. Kharge reminded the public of the sacrifices made by former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi for the country.
Kharge also criticized the BJP and RSS for their opposition to the poor, marginalized communities, and women, and for attempting to divide society along caste and religious lines. He cited the Waqf Amendment Act as an example of the BJP and RSS’s divisive agenda.
