Sikar: A tragic incident occurred at Adarsh Vidya Mandir School in Rajasthan’s Sikar district, where a 9-year-old girl, Prachi Kumawat, collapsed during lunch break and later died due to a suspected heart attack.
According to reports, Prachi, a Class 4 student, suddenly lost consciousness while opening her lunchbox. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but suffered another cardiac arrest while being moved into the ambulance and passed away despite efforts to revive her.
Dr. R.K. Jangid, who treated the girl, stated that medical personnel tried to save her for over 90 minutes but were unsuccessful. The school’s principal, Nand Kishore Tiwari, said the girl had been absent from school for the past few days due to a mild cold but appeared healthy when she returned on Monday.
Prachi’s sudden death has plunged her family into deep grief. Relatives said she had no known health issues and her passing has left them in shock.
Medical professionals have expressed concern over the increasing occurrence of cardiac problems among children. Experts suggest that post-COVID complications, along with factors such as lifestyle changes, pollution, stress, diabetes, excessive exercise, and steroid use, could be contributing to the rise in such cases.
