Karnataka: A devastating accident on Friday near Gundenahalli Cross in Haveri district resulted in the deaths of at least 13 people, including eight women and two children. According to the sources, the incident occurred when a tempo traveller crashed into a parked truck on the Bengaluru-Pune National Highway. It is said that four were seriously injured and are receiving treatment.

The victims, from Emmehatti village near Bhadravathi town in Shivamogga district, were returning home after visiting temples in Maharashtra and Karnataka. It is said that they had visited Tiwari Lakshmi Temple, Tulja Bhavani Temple, and Renuka Yellamma Temple in Saundatti Yellamma, Belagavi district, before the accident.

Authorities suspect that poor visibility due to mist and possible driver fatigue may have contributed to the accident. The bodies of deceased have been taken to the Haveri District Hospital for autopsy.
