Budgam: At least ten security personnel were injured after a CRPF vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday, amid heightened security deployment in the region due to ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.
The incident occurred in the Tangnar hill area while a van carrying personnel from the 181st Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was en route. The vehicle lost control and veered off the road, plunging into a steep valley.

Among the injured are eight CRPF jawans and two Special Police Officers (SPOs) from the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Preliminary reports indicate that nine of the ten injured were part of a Special Quick Action Team (SQAT). Two personnel are said to be in critical condition.
Local residents responded swiftly, rushing to the accident site and assisting in the rescue efforts. The injured were initially transported to the Sub-District Hospital in Khansahib, and later shifted to the 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for specialised medical care due to the severity of their injuries. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
