Vidadala Rajini first stepped into the political arena during the 2019 elections, securing a victory with an 8,000-vote margin. Her success led to an appointment as a minister. However, following YSR Congress Party’s loss in the 2024 elections, many members have migrated to TDP and Jana Sena, and sources suggest that Vidadala Rajini may be considering a similar move.

Rumors of Rajini Joining Jana Sena Intensify

Reports indicate that former minister Vidadala Rajini may be preparing to leave YSRCP and align with Jana Sena, with speculation suggesting an official announcement could come soon. Recently, sources claimed she was seeking a meeting with Pawan Kalyan through Balineni Srinivas Reddy, who recently joined Jana Sena. Furthermore, it’s reported that Rajini has already met with Srinivas Reddy to discuss her plans. However, her supporters deny any intentions of a party switch, stating there is no truth to the rumors.

Political Journey Initiated with TDP

Rajini’s political journey began with her joining TDP in 2014 under the guidance of Prathipati Pulla Rao. Her charisma and fluent communication in Telugu, Hindi, and English quickly made her a prominent figure within TDP. Recognizing her potential, Pulla Rao invited her to speak at the 2017 Mahanadu in Visakhapatnam, where her speech caught the attention of Chandrababu Naidu. The video of her address continues to circulate online, contributing to her popularity. In addition to her political rise, she established the VR Foundation, further strengthening her public connection. In 2019, Rajini requested the MLA ticket for Chilakaluripet from TDP, though the party ultimately denied her request.

Shift to YSRCP and Ministerial Role

Following the ticket denial, Rajini joined YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), where she contested and won the 2019 elections in the Chilakaluripet constituency, defeating her TDP rival Prathipati Pulla Rao with an 8,000-vote margin. When Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy became Chief Minister after the 2019 election, Rajini’s accomplishments were recognized, and she was appointed Minister for Health and Family Welfare in April 2022, marking a significant chapter in her political career.
