US President Donald Trump is in excellent physical and mental health and remains fully fit to serve as Commander-in-Chief, according to a medical report released by his personal physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella. The assessment followed nearly three hours of comprehensive medical examinations, after which Trump said on social media that his health was “perfect.”
The medical evaluation involved 22 specialist doctors and included a series of preventive tests such as CT scans, heart imaging and cancer screenings. The report stated that Trump weighs 238 pounds (108 kg), about six kilograms more than last year. At a height of 6 feet 3 inches, his Body Mass Index (BMI) was recorded at 29.7, placing him just below the obesity threshold.
While doctors advised Trump to continue focusing on diet and exercise to manage his weight, they described his overall physical and cognitive performance as excellent. The report also noted minor bruising on his hands, attributing the condition to frequent handshakes and the effects of aspirin medication, and clarified that it does not pose any significant health concern.
Doctors further revealed that Trump’s age-related condition, chronic venous insufficiency, which can cause blood circulation issues and swelling in the legs, has shown considerable improvement compared to last year. Although some swelling remains, the condition is being effectively managed. The report also highlighted that Trump’s heart function is strong and his cholesterol levels remain under control due to medication.
Trump, who is set to turn 80 next month, is the oldest person ever elected President of the United States. The release of the health report is widely seen as an effort to counter criticism regarding his age ahead of future political contests. Despite often joking about his fondness for fast food and limited exercise outside of golf, Trump has repeatedly maintained that he feels as energetic and healthy as he did decades ago.
