The Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has taken serious note of the case registered at Pet Basheerabad Police Station involving Union Minister Bandi Sanjay’s son, Bandi Bhagirath. The Chief Minister expressed strong concern over the delay in initiating action after the complaint was received and reviewed the matter with the Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand.
During the review, the Chief Minister directed the DGP to immediately expedite the investigation and ensure that no further delay occurs in handling the case. He questioned the delay in taking action even after the complaint was lodged by the victim on May 8 and sought a detailed update on the progress of the investigation.
Responding to the Chief Minister’s queries, DGP C.V. Anand reportedly explained that police personnel in Hyderabad were engaged in extensive security arrangements and bandobast duties in connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, which contributed to the delay in follow-up action on the case.
After reviewing the situation, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed the police department to constitute special investigation teams without delay. He emphasized that the probe must be conducted in a thorough, fair, and impartial manner, free from any external influence or pressure.
The Chief Minister also stressed that justice must be delivered swiftly to the victim and directed officials to proceed strictly as per law. The case, which includes allegations under the POCSO Act along with a counter-complaint of alleged blackmail and honey-trapping, has gained significant political attention in Telangana, with the investigation now under close watch.
