Srikakulam: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram has categorically denied reports suggesting his possible defection to the Jana Sena Party. Addressing the growing buzz on social media, Tammineni expressed his displeasure over the rumors, calling them baseless.
Speaking on the matter, Tammineni said, “There is no need for me to join Jana Sena. It is unfortunate that every issue is being blown out of proportion.” He clarified that his absence from recent party activities was due to personal reasons, stating, “I have been attending to my son, who has been hospitalized for the past 15 days. This has kept me occupied, which is why I couldn’t participate in party programs.”

Following the 2024 Assembly elections, YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy undertook significant organizational changes. Tammineni was appointed as the YSRCP coordinator for the Srikakulam Parliamentary constituency. However, his role as in-charge of his home constituency, Amudalavalasa, was reassigned to Chintada Ravi Kumar.
This development led to widespread speculation on social media about Tammineni’s dissatisfaction with the party leadership and rumors of a potential switch to Jana Sena. However, with his recent clarification, Tammineni has put an end to the conjecture, reaffirming his commitment to the YSRCP.
