A tragic incident occurred at Marina Beach in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, during the “Mega Air Show” organized by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Sunday. As millions flocked to witness the event, a stampede ensued. Four people lost their lives, and over 100 were injured. Approximately 230 individuals collapsed due to the chaos. The injured were rushed to hospitals via ambulances.
Moreover, the Lighthouse Metro Station and Velachery MRTS railway station near Marina Beach were overcrowded, leading to a situation where there was no room left on the platforms as thousands of people descended upon the stations at once.
