Arikepudi Gandhi, MLA from Serilingampally, was arrested by the police after a violent altercation erupted in Kondapur. The incident unfolded when MLA Kaushik Reddy issued a challenge, prompting Gandhi and his supporters to allegedly attack Reddy’s residence. As tensions escalated, Gandhi’s followers reportedly hurled stones, tomatoes, and eggs at Kaushik Reddy’s house. Police swiftly intervened to detain Gandhi, aiming to prevent further escalation of violence.

Responding to the incident, Telangana Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly condemned the attack and raised concerns about the state’s law and order situation. KTR criticized Gandhi’s actions, describing it as shocking for an MLA to engage in such behavior during daylight hours. He expressed dismay over Kaushik Reddy being placed under house arrest while Gandhi was able to carry out the assault.

Accusing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of orchestrating the assault, KTR emphasized the Bharata Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party’s resolve against intimidation tactics. He demanded immediate arrests of those involved in the attack and held the government accountable for any harm inflicted on Kaushik Reddy. KTR warned against the misuse of power, asserting that such actions would face strong opposition and backlash in the future, threatening the democratic process.
