In a sensational case from Pune, Maharashtra, accused Sia Goyal has made startling revelations during police interrogation regarding the murder of her fiancé Ketan Agarwal, who was pushed into a valley along with her lover. She told police that she had informed Ketan beforehand that she did not want to marry him, but he refused to call off the wedding. She alleged that Ketan threatened her, saying his family was extremely wealthy and influential, and that she could never escape this marriage even if she ran away. However, whether these claims are true or false is yet to be determined through court proceedings.
Sia and Ketan had gotten engaged in February this year. Both families had planned a grand wedding for November, booking a palace in Jaipur for ₹17 crore and arranging two private jets for guests. However, in the meantime, Sia developed a relationship with a young man named Chetan Chaudhary. Police investigation revealed that the two spoke on the phone a staggering 2,004 times over just seven months, spending approximately 238 hours together. Even as wedding preparations were underway, they plotted to eliminate Ketan.
First Attempt Failed
On June 14, Sia took Ketan to Lohagad Fort and attempted to push him into the valley. However, Ketan grabbed onto a bush and survived. To avoid suspicion, Sia screamed that there was a snake, pretended to be frightened, hugged Ketan tightly, and put on a dramatic act. When that plan failed, she lured Ketan back to the same fort a few days later — this time with her lover Chetan also present. Together, they pushed Ketan from behind into the valley, killing him. Case files reveal that the two had even prepared a Plan C in case this attempt also failed.
How They Were Caught
Initially, Sia convinced police that Ketan had accidentally fallen while taking photographs in strong winds. However, Lonavala Rural Police grew suspicious when she showed no signs of grief despite her fiancé’s death. A technical investigation then uncovered the truth. Both Sia and Chetan have since been arrested.
Now Blaming Each Other
Currently in police custody, both accused are pointing fingers at each other. Chetan claims he only intended to elope with Sia and that the murder idea was entirely hers, while Sia argues that her lover pressured and forced her into committing the act.
