Hyderabad: Actor Prithvi has issued a public apology following controversial comments he made at the pre-release event of the film Laila. The remarks, directed at YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders, triggered a backlash from YSRCP supporters, who took to social media to trend the hashtag “Boycott Laila.”
Prithvi clarified that he did not intend to cause any harm to anyone personally or to the film. “I apologize to everyone. My intention was never to harm the film. From now on, instead of saying ‘Boycott Laila,’ let’s say ‘Welcome Laila,'” he said, emphasizing his desire for the movie to succeed.
The actor further explained that the fame the team has achieved is due to their work in films, and any negative impact on the movie due to his comments was not his intention. “If my words hurt anyone’s feelings, I sincerely apologize,” Prithvi added.

During the pre-release event, Prithvi made indirect comments targeting YSRCP, comparing political scenarios to a situation involving counting goats, which quickly went viral. Following this, YSRCP supporters began trending “Boycott Laila,” prompting a response from the film’s team, including actor Vishwak.
