Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong attack on the Congress party, accusing it of engaging in opportunistic politics. He alleged that the party has maintained a long-standing alliance with the DMK for nearly three decades, which he said helped Congress overcome multiple political crises and sustain its position in power during earlier years.
Modi further claimed that even before 2014, the Congress-led central government survived for a decade largely due to DMK’s support. However, he criticized the party for allegedly abandoning its ally during difficult times and forming an alliance with TVK, calling it an act driven by political greed and opportunism. He said such actions reflect the Congress party’s willingness to compromise relationships for power.
Turning his focus to Karnataka, the Prime Minister alleged that the Congress government has failed to deliver effective governance due to ongoing internal power struggles. He stated that for the past three years, the state leadership has prioritized resolving factional disputes over addressing public issues and development concerns.
Modi also remarked that even the Congress high command is unable to determine the continuation of the Chief Minister or leadership changes in Karnataka. He said this lack of clarity reflects the absence of a strong governance agenda, which is leading to growing public dissatisfaction and declining support for the party across the country.
The Prime Minister asserted that people are increasingly looking towards the BJP for stable governance and development. He cited recent electoral victories in states such as West Bengal and Assam as examples of rising public trust in the party. Modi expressed confidence that the BJP would form the government in Karnataka in the future as well.
