Hyderabad: TG NAB officials and Rayadurgam SOT police conducted a significant operation at the Cave Pub in Manikonda, leading to the detention of 55 individuals. Those found in the pub were medically examined, and 24 people, including DJ manager Ayub, tested positive for drugs and ganja. A majority of the drug users were students and IT employees.
Madhapur DCP Vineet addressed the media, stating that a music party at the pub was found to be a source of drug distribution. “We have registered cases against 25 people and arrested them. Our investigation revealed that individuals bringing drugs from outside had entered the pub. The electronic music party was promoted on social media. Acting on a tip-off, Telangana Narcotic, Cyberabad, SOT, and Rayadurgam police conducted searches and seized the pub for promoting drugs,” said Vineet.
Cave Pub manager Shekhar has also been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated. Vineet emphasized the need for IT companies to educate their employees about the dangers of drug use. He also announced plans for future searches at other pubs, expressing concerns that similar drug parties might have taken place at Cave Pub before. Four other pub owners are currently absconding and will be arrested soon.
