Dommata Ramachandra Reddy, a veteran politician and former MLA, passed away on Saturday at the age of 85. He had been undergoing treatment for health-related issues at a private hospital in Hyderabad, where he breathed his last. A native of Kondapaka in Siddipet district, Reddy is survived by two daughters and had been residing in Hyderabad.
Political Career and Association with KCR
Ramachandra Reddy was elected as an MLA from the Dommata constituency (now Dubbak) in 1985 on a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ticket. A close associate of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Reddy shared a long-standing camaraderie with the former Chief Minister. Both leaders played pivotal roles in strengthening the TDP in the Siddipet region, with KCR representing Siddipet and Reddy serving as the Dommata MLA.
