Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has made a notable move by withdrawing from the upcoming by-election for local bodies in Visakhapatnam district. This decision appears to be influenced by the YSRCP’s strong support from a majority of MPTC and ZPTC members, which positions their candidate, former minister Botsa Satyanarayana, for an easy victory.
Independent candidate Sheikh Safi has filed his nomination alongside YSRCP’s Botsa Satyanarayana for the by-election. As the deadline for nominations closed on Tuesday. The deadline for withdrawal of nominations is set for the 16th. If no other candidates remain aside from Botsa Satyanarayana, the election could be declared unanimous. With YSRCP holding a majority of approximately 530 votes out of 838, their victory seems likely.
