CCS Police Book Actress Ashu Reddy in Alleged ₹9.35 Crore Cheating Case

Hyderabad-based actress Ashu Reddy (Venkata Ashwini Reddy Koyya) and members of her family have been booked by the City Central Crime Station (CCS) police over allegations of cheating a software engineer on the pretext of marriage. The complainant has alleged that she was involved in a long-term relationship that later turned into a financial dispute running into crores of rupees.

According to the complaint, London-based software engineer Y.V. Dharmendra came into contact with Ashu Reddy in 2018. It is alleged that she claimed to have completed her education in the United States and expressed aspirations in the film industry, following which their acquaintance developed into a relationship. She is accused of promising marriage and gaining his trust over time.

The complaint further states that Ashu Reddy allegedly took substantial amounts of money citing financial requirements. It is alleged that the funds were used to purchase a car, gold, and several properties, which were subsequently registered in her name. The complainant’s family also claimed that marriage preparations were initiated, including ceremonial arrangements, before the proposal was abruptly withdrawn.

It is further alleged that between 2018 and 2025, a total of around ₹9.35 crore in cash, nearly 5 kg of gold, flats, and vehicles were transferred to her. Additionally, her sister is also alleged to have taken ₹50 lakh. Based on these allegations, CCS police have registered a case and initiated an investigation, while the matter is currently under scrutiny.
