Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made significant remarks in the Assembly regarding the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case, describing it as a clear example of how criminals manipulate narratives. He recalled that on the morning of the incident, a WhatsApp message was circulated stating that Vivekananda Reddy had died of a heart attack, a claim he initially believed. However, by noon, Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha insisted on a post-mortem, leading to discrepancies in the earlier statements.
Chandrababu Naidu alleged that those who initially attributed the death to natural causes later changed their stance by the evening. He condemned the spread of misleading narratives, calling them an attempt to distort the truth. The Chief Minister also reaffirmed his long-standing stance against violent politics, emphasizing his 45-year political career without any involvement in such acts. He stated that whenever political violence occurred, he ensured those responsible were permanently removed from public life.
He further warned that individuals attempting to shield crimes under political pretenses and evade accountability would not be allowed to escape legal scrutiny.
