Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs, emphasizing their growing role in the economy. Speaking at an international conference on women entrepreneurship held in Vijayawada on March 8, he stated that women are outperforming men in earnings and business success.

The conference, themed “New Generation – Tech-Aided for Sustainable Enterprises: Prosperity for All,” was organized at Novotel Hotel, Vijayawada to promote women’s participation in business. Addressing the gathering, Chandrababu stressed the importance of skill development, technology adoption, and innovation, asserting that the NDA government is committed to fostering women-led enterprises.

Highlighting women’s increasing contribution to various sectors, he remarked, “Women are not only excelling but also surpassing men in several fields. Economic progress is impossible without their active participation.” He noted that India has witnessed a significant rise in women’s labor force participation, surpassing many global economies.

Recalling his personal experiences, Chandrababu shared that witnessing his mother’s struggles in the kitchen inspired initiatives like free gas connections. “No woman should face the hardships my mother endured. This led us to introduce free gas connections, and under the Deepam 2 scheme, we are now providing three free gas cylinders per year to ease the financial burden on women,” he said.

He also pointed out that women manage nearly 45% of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state. By strengthening self-help groups through bank linkages and loans, the government aims to promote financial independence among women.

Further, the government will provide structured support through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub for women seeking to establish businesses. “We will utilize all available resources to empower women and create new opportunities. Women should also excel in artificial intelligence (AI),” he emphasized.

Discussing the Swarnandhra Vision 2047, Chandrababu stated that Andhra Pradesh is targeting a $2.4 trillion economy, aiming for a 15% growth rate to position the state among the world’s leading economies.
