Nagar Kurnool: A massive wildfire has erupted in the Amrabad Tiger Reserve, causing widespread destruction. According to local reports, the fire started on Sunday night in the Domalapenta forest region. Officials confirmed that the flames have spread across hundreds of hectares along the Srisailam-Hyderabad highway.
Wildlife in Distress
The raging fire has forced wild animals to flee in panic, with distressing scenes of wildlife running in different directions. The blaze has destroyed rare plant species and medicinal herbs, raising concerns among environmentalists.
The Forest Department’s satellite monitoring system, which is designed to detect such fires, reportedly failed to identify the blaze in time, leading to questions about its reliability.
Experts have warned that if the fire is not contained immediately, it could spread into the Nallamala Forest, resulting in a major ecological disaster.
