The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has been officially recognized as the richest regional political party in India, according to the latest report published by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The party’s audit report, submitted for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, revealed that the BRS has Rs 1,449 crore in its accounts, making it the wealthiest regional party in the country. The report also detailed the party’s significant expenditure during the Lok Sabha election campaign, which amounted to ₹120 crore. Each of its 17 MP candidates was provided Rs 95 lakh for campaign activities. This places the BRS ahead of Odisha’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD), which previously topped the list with Rs 625 crore in total funds.

The BRS’s campaign expenses were substantial, with Rs 10.51 crore spent on social media promotions, Rs 34.68 crore on campaign materials, Rs 20.37 crore on public meetings, rallies, and processions, and Rs 34.39 crore on other promotional activities. This financial disclosure highlights the party’s strong fiscal position, setting a new benchmark for regional parties in India.
