Tollywood actor Nagarjuna has initiated defamation proceedings against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha over alleged derogatory remarks about him and his family. The case was recently heard in the Nampally court, where arguments were presented concerning the minister’s counter.
Court Hears Nagarjuna’s Plea
During the hearing, Nagarjuna’s counsel, advocate Ashok, argued that Konda Surekha’s comments were objectionable and intended to demean the actor’s family. He urged the court to take criminal action against the minister. The court has already recorded statements from Nagarjuna and his family members in connection with the case.

Apology Issued to Samantha
Amid the controversy, Konda Surekha had earlier issued an apology to actress Samantha through a social media post. The minister clarified that her comments were aimed at addressing gender bias in leadership, not to hurt Samantha’s feelings.
“I admire your achievements and see you as an inspiration. If my remarks caused distress to you or your fans, I unconditionally withdraw them. Please do not misconstrue my intentions,” she stated on her X account.
The court’s decision in the defamation case is awaited.
