Prominent Telugu OTT platform Aha is continuing to incur significant losses. The company reported a loss of Rs 105 crore for the financial year 2023-24, which ended in March. Aha’s revenue from operations stood at Rs 133 crore, while other income, excluding operational revenue, amounted to Rs 4 crore. Total revenue reached Rs 137 crore, but the expenses were Rs 277 crore, leading to a loss of Rs 105 crore.
However, there has been some improvement in Aha’s performance compared to the past. The company saw a 9% increase in revenue in 2023-24 compared to the previous year. Revenue, which was Rs 122 crore in 2022-23, grew to Rs 137 crore in 2023-24. At the same time, the losses were reduced. In 2022-23, Aha reported a loss of Rs 120 crore, which has now decreased to Rs 105 crore, marking a 13% reduction in losses, according to the company.
Aha was the first OTT platform in Telugu and later expanded its operations to Tamil as well. The platform releases films in regional languages as well as dubbed versions of films in other languages. Shows like Unstoppable are also telecast on the platform. Despite consistent revenue growth, increasing operational costs have led to continued losses.
