Hyderabad: Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has instructed officials to implement stringent measures for the protection of government lands in the district. Speaking at a meeting in Bhainsa on Friday, held at the R&B Guest House, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, along with District Collector Abhilash Abhinav and officials from various departments including Revenue, Engineering, Marketing, Agriculture, and Civil Supplies, emphasized the need for urgent action to safeguard public lands.
Survey and Identification of Boundaries for Government Lands
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy directed officials to conduct a thorough survey of forest and government lands in the district, identify boundaries, and ensure their protection. He warned of strict actions against individuals involved in land encroachment and requested that survey details be submitted in documented form for further review.
Accelerating Crop Procurement Process
The Minister also focused on the procurement process for paddy and cotton crops, instructing officials to expedite the purchase procedure. He emphasized the importance of providing farmers with all necessary facilities at procurement centers to avoid any difficulties. Transparency in the procurement process was stressed, ensuring farmers are not at a financial disadvantage.
Ensuring Timely Payments to Farmers
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy sought updates on the establishment of paddy procurement centers, the quantity of paddy collected, and the payments made to farmers’ accounts. He directed that payments be credited to farmers’ accounts immediately after crop sales.
Government Support for Farmers and Housing Beneficiaries
Assuring farmers of the government’s commitment, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy confirmed that every grain of produce would be purchased and highlighted the Rs 500 bonus per quintal offered for sun-dried paddy. He urged farmers to avoid middlemen and sell only at government-designated procurement centers.
In addition, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy reaffirmed the government’s plan to provide Indiramma houses to eligible beneficiaries. He reviewed the distribution details of two-bedroom houses in the district and inquired about houses that are ready for distribution.
