The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing regarding the Tirupati laddu controversy to tomorrow at 10:30 AM. The case involves allegations of fraud in the production of the famous Tirupati laddu and was brought to the court by petitioners Subrahmanyaswamy and Y.V. Subbareddy, who are seeking an independent investigation into the matter.

Hearing Details
The hearing was conducted today by a bench comprising Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice K.V. Vishwanathan, who considered whether to continue the investigation through the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the state government or to hand the case over to a central agency. Observers anticipated a decision on this matter during today’s session.

However, the central government requested additional time to provide its opinion on the investigation’s direction, leading the Supreme Court to defer the hearing to tomorrow morning.

Context of Allegations
Earlier, the Supreme Court had commented on the allegations surrounding the Tirupati laddu, stating that there was no evidence suggesting the use of adulterated ghee in its preparation during the previous hearing four days ago.

Suspension of SIT Investigation
Meanwhile, in light of the ongoing Supreme Court proceedings, the state government has temporarily halted the SIT investigation into the Tirupati laddu allegations. DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao announced that further decisions would be made following the Supreme Court’s directives.
