Demolitions have recommenced in Ameenpur Municipality, with municipal authorities cracking down on illegal constructions, reminiscent of the “Hydra” style operations. Seven structures built on government land in Survey Number 993 were brought down. Officials discovered that fraudulent activities, such as notarizing without proper permissions, were being carried out. Ameenpur Tahsildar confirmed that the demolitions occurred only after prior notice was given.
Tahsildar Radha mentioned that the Revenue Department has been battling these encroachments since 2022. Despite multiple demolitions, the owners remained unresponsive. She also revealed that three large buildings in Survey Number 164 at Kishta Reddy Peta, and 26 illegally constructed houses in Survey Numbers 12 and 208 at Patelguda were razed. Actions will be taken against five more houses, she added.
