The Telangana High Court has expressed serious concern regarding remarks made by Medak BJP MP Raghunandan Rao, which were deemed inappropriate towards the judiciary. The Chief Justice has formally communicated this issue through a letter and has accepted a suo motu petition concerning the matter.

The court’s response was prompted by comments made by Raghunandan Rao in light of a recent decision to stay the demolition of the N-Convention, owned by film star Nagarjuna. The Chief Justice criticized Raghunandan Rao for exhibiting disrespect towards the judicial system.

The Chief Justice’s bench has registered a contempt of court case against Raghunandan Rao and has issued notices requiring him to clarify his statements, which have been characterized as contemptuous. A house motion petition was previously filed in the High Court seeking to halt the demolitions of Nagarjuna’s N-Convention.

Following a review, a single judge’s bench granted a stay on the demolitions, instructing officials to cease operations. However, it was noted that demolitions had already taken place prior to the court’s order. In light of Raghunandan Rao’s subsequent criticisms of the High Court’s ruling, the bench has expressed its discontent and demanded an explanation from him.
