YSRCP leaders have been protesting statewide against the vandalism of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue in Vijayawada. However, TDP leader Varma has expressed strong anger over these protests, stating that YSRCP leaders have no right to speak about Ambedkar. He accused YSRCP leaders of showing fake concern for Dalits, calling the party’s actions hypocritical.

Varma criticized YSRCP as a party that has undermined schemes for Dalits, questioning their sincerity in protesting in the name of Ambedkar. He questioned why, if the previous government truly cared for Dalits, they removed Dalit welfare schemes and remained indifferent when attacks on Dalits occurred.

Varma also targeted MP Vanga Geetha, claiming that no development took place in the Pithapuram constituency during her tenure as MP.

Varma pointed out that former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had planned to establish an Ambedkar Memorial in the Amaravati capital, including a vast area with the tallest statue in the world, showcasing various aspects of Ambedkar’s life, education, struggles, and his role in drafting the Constitution. He argued that this would have been a lasting tribute for future generations. However, he criticized former CM Jagan for setting up the statue in a smaller area in Vijayawada.
