Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM chief and MP, addressed the media today regarding speculations of the BRS merging with the BJP. In a press conference held on Tuesday, Owaisi directly questioned Telangana Chief Minister KCR, asking whether the BRS is indeed merging with the BJP or extending support to the ruling party.

Owaisi demanded clarity for the people of Telangana on this matter, emphasizing the need for transparency amid recent political developments. He highlighted that despite the defeat in the assembly elections, AIMIM, previously allied with the BRS, remains steadfast in its stance. Moreover, Owaisi pointed out that leaders from the BRS have openly endorsed the BJP, attributing cross-voting as a contributing factor to their recent electoral setbacks.

Expressing his dismay, Owaisi criticized the BRS’s political strategy, suggesting that such alliances may have been ill-advised. “It’s a failure of the government,” he remarked, pivoting to recent security concerns following the tragic killing of four jawans, including an Army officer, in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda. “When our soldiers are losing their lives, the government’s response is critical,” Owaisi asserted.

He further scrutinized the saffron party’s ability to tackle terrorism, questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s previous promises. “If the Prime Minister pledges to enter terrorists’ homes and eliminate them, why are we witnessing such incidents today?” Owaisi queried, highlighting what he perceives as shortcomings in the government’s anti-terrorism efforts.
