High tension gripped Delhi during the mega dharna called by Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) chief Abhijit Dipke. According to reports, Dipke, who travelled from Bengaluru to the capital to take part in the protest, was stopped by police at the airport and arrested.

In a separate development, police in Gurugram took popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee into custody. The reason for his detention is yet to be made known.

Rathee had recently participated in an SIR protest in Bengaluru. On Friday night, he announced through an Instagram post that he would also take part in the large demonstration being organised by the CJP at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. In the video, he strongly targeted the central government and openly urged people to gather in large numbers at Jantar Mantar and join the protest.

Rathee frequently criticises the central government’s functioning on social media, and police took him into custody after he announced his participation in the latest protests. Meanwhile, police have put in place heavy security arrangements across Delhi, taking precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents.
