The Telangana government has issued important warning to beneficiaries receiving free ration rice. Every ration card holder must mandatorily complete their e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) process by tomorrow (July 31). To enhance transparency in the public distribution system and eliminate ineligible or fake cards, the government is enforcing the mandatory linking of Aadhaar with ration cards.

Consequences of Not Completing e-KYC

Authorities may remove the names of members who fail to complete e-KYC within the government-specified deadline from their ration cards. This would not only stop future free ration rice supply but would also result in beneficiaries losing access to other welfare schemes provided by the government based on the food security card. Hence, officials are urging people not to wait until the last minute and to complete this process immediately.

How to Check Your e-KYC Status on Your Mobile:

There’s no need to go around visiting ration shops to find out whether the e-KYC for your ration card has been completed. You can check the status within a minute using your smartphone:

1. First, go to the official website epds.telangana.gov.in on your mobile browser.
2. Click on the ‘FSC Search’ (Food Security Card Search) option visible on the homepage.
3. Enter your ration card number (FSC Number) or your Aadhaar number in the designated field.
4. Once you enter the details and submit, your ration card details will appear on the screen.
5. You can clearly see there which family members have completed the e-KYC and whose is still pending.

How to Complete the e-KYC Process

If e-KYC is pending for your card, beneficiaries must immediately visit their designated ration shop (FP Shop). There, e-KYC can be completed using fingerprint (biometric) or iris scan verification on the e-POS (electronic point of sale) machine available at the shop. Additionally, e-KYC can also be completed through Aadhaar verification at MeeSeva centers.

For this process, you must carry the ration card along with the original Aadhaar cards of all members registered under it. The Civil Supplies Department has clarified that the e-KYC registration process is completely free of cost, and that beneficiaries need not pay any money to ration dealers or anyone else for this service.
