A major controversy has erupted around Union Home Ministry Minister of State and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay, as his son Bandi Sai Bhagirath has been named in two separate and serious allegations, triggering a political and legal storm in Telangana.
In the first case, the parents of a minor girl have alleged that Sai Bhagirath sexually assaulted their daughter after allegedly forcing her to consume alcohol. Acting on the complaint, Pet Bashirabad police have registered a case against him under serious provisions, including BNSS Sections 74 and 75, along with Sections 11 read with 12 of the POCSO Act. The complainants have further stated that the victim has been severely traumatised and has even attempted suicide twice due to the alleged harassment.
In a parallel development, Sai Bhagirath has filed a counter complaint with the Karimnagar police, alleging that he is being subjected to a conspiracy and blackmail. He claimed that a family from Kompally in Hyderabad has been demanding ₹5 crore from him, allegedly using private messages and videos from his acquaintance with a girl to extort money. He further stated that he was initially pressured into paying ₹50,000, but the demands continued.

According to his complaint, the accused group is insisting either on marriage with the girl or payment of ₹5 crore, and is allegedly continuing mental harassment. Sai Bhagirath has termed the allegations against him as part of a planned honeytrap attempt aimed at extortion and has urged police to investigate the matter thoroughly.
