The Andhra Pradesh government has assured full support to a woman from Annamayya district who is stranded in Oman, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stating that the state will stand firmly by her. The woman, identified as Doodekula Shahnaz from Vayalapadu village, had travelled to Muscat in November last year for employment but later decided to return to India due to unfavourable job conditions.

According to details, agents involved in facilitating her travel allegedly confiscated her mobile phone and demanded ₹2 lakh under the pretext of expenses for her return journey. Following this, her family approached the APNRT Society seeking immediate assistance for her safe repatriation.

Acting on the complaint, the Andhra Pradesh government and APNRT Society promptly wrote to the Indian Embassy in Oman requesting intervention. Simultaneously, Andhra Pradesh Police engaged with the concerned agents and held discussions to resolve the issue and secure her return.

Authorities have confirmed that the agents have agreed to bear the expenses and facilitate her travel back to India. Shahnaz is expected to return to Andhra Pradesh on May 7. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting migrant workers and appreciated the swift response of the APNRT Society in resolving the matter.
