RTC Employees Must Not Fall Under Misleading Influence: Minister Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: Transport Minister Sridhar Babu has appealed to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) employees to exercise restraint and withdraw their ongoing strike. He said the government is committed to holding discussions to resolve all pending issues and urged workers not to take any hasty decisions that could adversely impact their families.

The minister cautioned employees against acting under external influence and said impulsive steps may lead to further complications. Speaking at a media briefing on the RTC strike, he reiterated that the government is open to constructive dialogue and called upon trade unions to come forward for immediate negotiations.

Meanwhile, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the RTC issues were discussed in the Cabinet and assured that the government is positively inclined towards addressing the concerns of employees. He clarified that the introduction of electric buses will not affect job security and urged workers to avoid making hurried decisions.

Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha said that RTC employees are like family members and emphasized that all issues can be resolved through discussions. He added that the Cabinet had prioritized deliberations on RTC matters, even setting aside its regular agenda to focus on the concerns of workers.

The minister also informed that RTC driver Shankar Goud, who attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on himself, is being provided advanced medical treatment. He said the injured driver has been shifted to Hyderabad for better care and assured that the government is closely monitoring his condition.
