Tensions in the Middle East are now extending to major U.S. technology companies, as Iran reportedly targets some of America’s top tech giants. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced plans to attack 18 U.S.-based tech firms, including Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Tesla. This warning comes shortly after U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued stern advisories regarding Iran’s growing military activity, raising international concern over potential cyber and physical threats to corporate operations.
The IRGC has set April 1 as the start date for its planned measures. It described the attacks as retaliatory actions in response to any acts of aggression against Iran, urging employees to evacuate offices immediately. Residents within a one-kilometer radius of the targeted sites were advised to move to safer areas, while Iran emphasized that its actions are framed as defensive measures to protect national security.
Meanwhile, Secretary Hegseth had earlier warned that Tehran must adhere to the terms set by President Donald Trump or face significant military consequences. He stated, “Trump neither threatens nor retreats; the coming days will determine Iran’s future.” Hegseth also highlighted that Iran’s new leadership must act with prudence and return to the negotiating table. He further disclosed that F-15 fighter jets previously reported as having crashed in Kuwait had actually carried out bombing missions over Tehran, adding to the volatility of the situation.
Iran, however, has ruled out any direct official discussions with the United States. The Iranian Consulate General in Mumbai described mediation proposals as “inconsistent and excessive,” while reiterating that, although peace initiatives are welcome, the U.S. is responsible for initiating the current hostilities. Tehran continues to maintain its right to respond to any perceived acts of aggression against its territory.
Analysts caution that the standoff could disrupt global technology operations and supply chains, with companies likely to implement heightened security and evacuation protocols. The unfolding scenario underscores the intersection of geopolitical tensions and corporate vulnerability, while international observers urge dialogue to prevent further escalation in the Middle East.
