Tensions continue to rise in West Asia as a conflict between the United States–Israel alliance and Iran has been ongoing for the past two weeks. Amid this volatile global situation, a fresh development has emerged in East Asia, with North Korea conducting new missile launches, drawing international attention.

According to reports, North Korea launched 10 ballistic missiles from its eastern coast toward the Sea of Japan on Saturday. The launches were confirmed by the military of South Korea and the government of Japan, both of which have been closely monitoring the situation.

The missile tests come at a time when South Korea and the United States are conducting their annual joint military exercises. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said North Korea fired multiple ballistic projectiles during this period. The Japan Coast Guard reported that the missiles landed in the sea at around 1:30 pm local time on Saturday.

Officials in Japan stated that the government is carefully observing developments following the launches. Earlier this year, on January 27, North Korea had also fired short-range ballistic missiles from its eastern coast. The latest missile tests have once again heightened security concerns in the region and triggered renewed debate over Pyongyang’s military activities.
