Family members, party leaders, and fans paid tribute to Telugu Desam Party founder and former united Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao on his 30th death anniversary at NTR Ghat near Tank Bund in Hyderabad on Sunday. Actor Kalyan Ram, NTR’s grandson and son of Harikrishna, offered floral tributes early in the morning, accompanied by a large gathering of devotees. Flowers were placed at the memorial as his legacy and memories were recalled, marking the beginning of a series of commemorative events.
Telugu Desam Party supporters across Hyderabad have organized multiple activities in honor of NTR, including mass feeding programs and blood donation camps. Party leaders coordinated these initiatives throughout the city from morning to evening, while ensuring participation of families and local residents. The celebrations also included floral tributes to NTR statues across different locations, reflecting his enduring influence on party cadres and supporters.
In Andhra Pradesh, the ruling coalition has prepared large-scale events for the occasion. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, along with other ministers and leaders, is involved in the planning. Cultural programs, dramas, and performances are being organized under the banner of NTR Kalaparishad by former Zilla Parishad chairman Eedar Haribabu in Ongole. These festivities, held at the PVR School grounds, will begin Sunday evening and continue until next month, with party members encouraged to actively participate.
In Kurnool, the late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s memory will be honored with state-level solo acting competitions organized by the District Rangasthala Kalakarula Aikya Vedika on January 18 and 19 at TGV Kala Kshetra. Over 60 artists from both Telugu states are expected to participate, with the top prize including ₹5,016, a memento, and a certificate of appreciation, according to the organizing committee. These events aim to celebrate NTR’s legacy in arts, culture, and public service.
