Nalgonda: With the Sankranti festival concluding, authorities expect a massive inflow of vehicles from Andhra Pradesh into Telangana. Ongoing flyover construction at Chityala and Pedda Kaparthi on National Highway-65 (Vijayawada–Hyderabad corridor) is likely to cause traffic congestion, prompting the police to implement precautionary road diversions.
Nalgonda Superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra Pawar announced that traffic diversions have been arranged to ensure smooth vehicular movement and prevent bottlenecks. Vehicles travelling from Guntur to Hyderabad will be diverted via Miryalaguda, Halia, Kondamallepally, and Chintapalli–Mall. Those coming from Macherla to Hyderabad will be rerouted through Nagarjunasagar, Peddavura, Kondapallepally, and Chintapalli–Mall.
For vehicles travelling from Nalgonda towards Hyderabad, the designated route will be via the Marriguda Bypass, Munugode, Narayanapur, and Choutuppal on the National Highway. Heavy vehicles from Vijayawada to Hyderabad will be diverted through Kodad, Huzurnagar, Miryalaguda, Halia, and Chintapalli–Mall.
The SP further stated that if traffic congestion worsens on NH-65 due to construction activities at Chityala and Pedda Kaparthi, vehicles will be diverted from Chityala via Bhuvanagiri towards Hyderabad.
Sharath Chandra Pawar said the police department’s priority is to ensure that people returning after Sankranti reach their destinations safely and without inconvenience. He urged motorists to cooperate with traffic personnel and follow diversion routes, advising citizens to dial 100 in case of any emergency.
