YouTuber Anvesh, who runs the “Naa Anveshana” YouTube channel and is active on Instagram, is facing serious legal trouble following allegations of making objectionable remarks against Hindu deities. His recent comments sparked widespread controversy and drew strong reactions from Hindu organisations and social media users. Multiple complaints have been filed against him at various places, with critics accusing him of hurting religious sentiments through offensive content.
The controversy intensified after a video in which Anvesh, while claiming to provide sex education using fruits such as watermelon and cucumber, allegedly used derogatory references related to Sita and Draupadi. These remarks triggered sharp backlash, leading to protests on social media and a significant drop in his followers, with many users unfollowing his accounts. Amid growing criticism, Anvesh released an apology video, stating that he was withdrawing his comments.
Meanwhile, film actress Karate Kalyani lodged a complaint with Panjagutta police, accusing Anvesh of insulting Hindu deities and using obscene language against actor Shivaji and spiritual speaker Garikapati. Based on her complaint and the video links submitted as evidence, police registered an FIR against Anvesh. As part of the investigation, Panjagutta police have written to Instagram seeking details of his account and the controversial content.
Hindu organisations have intensified their protests, demanding strict legal action and insisting that an apology alone is not sufficient. They have urged authorities to bring Anvesh back to India, as he is reportedly abroad, and ensure stringent punishment. Police, after consulting legal experts, said they are awaiting a response from Instagram and will initiate further action once the required information is received.
