Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly commenced its sessions on Monday, beginning with condolence motions for late former MLAs Ramreddy Damodara Reddy and Konda Lakshmireddy, which were presented and observed by the members. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, opposition leader and former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), ministers, and MLAs attended the session. An interesting moment occurred when CM Revanth Reddy approached KCR in the Assembly hall, exchanged greetings, and inquired about his health. Several ministers and legislators, including Uttam, Komatireddy, Sridhar Babu, Adluri Lakshman, Sitakka, Naveen Yadav, Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, Vakiti Srihari, and Congress and CPI MLAs, also greeted KCR.

KCR, arriving from his Nandhinagar residence, was welcomed by TRS MLAs and escorted into the Assembly hall. He stayed briefly, taking his seat before the session began, and left shortly after the condolence motions, accompanied by former minister Harish Rao. His brief presence and early exit on the first day have drawn criticism from political opponents on social media, raising questions over his attendance in subsequent sessions.

The legislative agenda includes the merger of municipalities within GHMC’s ORR area, expansion of GHMC wards from 150 to 300, removal of the two-child rule in local body elections, amendments to Telangana GST, and employee regularization measures. A BAC meeting will be held following the adjournment of the first day, with the duration of the Assembly and Council sessions yet to be decided.
